The annual Christmas Party, and the last event of the year.
Buffet Party at The Roppongi Hills Club (Roppongi Hills, 51st floor).
With a hope of milder temperature by this time, we are delighted to offer another opportunity for a seated dinner at The Tokyo Club. The evening will include pre-dinner drinks, a full course meal and after-dinner drinks.
The Tokyo Club holds a special place in the history of the Society, as according to our records, many of our regular meetings were held there before WWII, given that numerous members also belonged to the Club. The current clubhouse was designed by the renowned architect Yoshio Taniguchi (1937-2024), who was himself a member of The Tokyo Club. His notable works include the Gallery of Horyuji Treasures at the Tokyo National Museum, Tokyo Sea Life Park, and the renovation of MOMA(NYC) in 2004.
In order for the Society to continue enjoying the Club's special ambience, good food and its excellent service, we kindly ask you to be mindful of the Dress Codes and House Rules when attending.
This event is always very popular, so please make sure to sign up early if you would like to secure your spot.
After another record-breaking hot summer, we will pick up where we left off with a buffet dinner at Le Petit Tonneau, a popular bistro in Toranomon. There is no particular dress code for this event.
The sign-up to this event has already opened. Applications will be accepted until 6pm, September 4, so please grab a friend and come join us!
The cost of attendance is JPY 11,000 per person. As usual, you are welcome to bring a guest to this event. Please be sure to register your guest's name on the Google Form!
If you would like to amend or cancel your attendance after you have submitted the Google Form, please send an email to Naoko Miyazaki.
We will be returning to The Tokyo Club (https://www.tokyoclub.or.jp/en/access.html) for a seated dinner for our June event.
As usual, the drinks will start at 18:30, followed by a full course dinner with wines from the Club cellar.
As we are expecting the temperature to rise at this time of the year, please be sure to adhere to the dress codes of The Tokyo Club (=jackets required but ties optional for gentlemen, no spaghetti straps or short dresses for ladies. No denim, sandals or sport shoes of any sort please) to avoid being denied entry.
The notice to sign up for this event will be sent by email later this month or in the first week of June, so please check your inbox regularly.
WE HAVE ALREADY REACHED FULL CAPACITY FOR THIS EVENT, AND THE GOOGLE FORM IS NOW CLOSED.
Following the great success of last year, the Early Summer Party will be held on Thursday May 29th, at Tsunamachi Mitsui Club, in a spectacular mansion designed by Josiah Conder (1852-1920), originally as the guesthouse for the opulent Mitsui Family.
The participants will have an opportunity to explore its beautiful gardens before the Buffet Dinner in the mansion.
This event will be extremely popular. A notice of the event with the Google Form to register will be going out in early May, so please check your inbox regularly.
THE EVENT IS NOW FULL.
PLEASE KINDLY WAIT FOR THE INFORMATION ON THE JUNE EVENT (TO BE SENT BY THE END OF MAY).
*GENERAL NOTE ON GUESTS
You are welcome to bring 1 guest to this event. Please write the name of the guest when registering on the Google Form. Unspecified guest will not be accepted. This event is full, but members are still welcome to register for a place on the waiting list.
To wind down from the 120th Anniversary Celebration last month, we will be holding a casual dinner with lots of wine at Oenophilia in Meguro, a venue highly rated by members when we went there for the first time in September last year.
