Events Calendar

The following is a list of the events planned for the first half (January to July) of 2008. Detailed information about each event will be distributed to members around three weeks in advance of the event itself. Members are in principle welcome to invite guests to all events except 2nd Tuesday Get-togethers (because of the lack of space), although restrictions may apply to certain other events. Please note that the May and July Second Tuesday meetings will be held on a Thursday (May 15) and Wednesday (July 9) this year (at the usual venue). These 2nd Tuesday Get-togethers run from 6 to 8 p.m., but all other events run from 6.30 to 9 p.m. unless otherwise specified.

Prospective members without proposers/seconders and overseas visitors are requested to contact the Membership Secretary, Mr Teruhisa Nakamura (t.nakamura[at]camford.org or fax 045-755-1855), at least one week in advance if they wish to attend any of our events. Prospective members who have already secured proposers/seconders should attend as guests of their proposers and/or seconders, who should apply through the regular channels. Golf match notices will be sent only to those on the Golfers’ List. If you would like to be added to this list, please contact Mr Teruhisa Nakamura: t.nakamura[at]camford.org (please note the change in his camford e-mail address).

Second Tuesday Get-togethers (18:00 p.m. - 20:30 p.m.):

These will continue to take place monthly, except in August. The venue is a private room adjacent to Bar Korin, B1F in the Courtyard by Marriot (formerly known as the Ginza Tobu Hotel), 14-10 Ginza 6-chome,Chuo-Ku,Tokyo 104-0061 (Tel: 03-3546-0111). Unlimited drinks and a small buffet selection are provided.

There is no need to inform the Honorary Secretaries of your intention to attend: just pop in if you have time. Last year, an average of around 12 members came to each meeting.

The Courtyard by Marriot Hotel is near Higashi Ginza Station on the Hibiya Line. Take exit 4 and turn left at the junction facing you at the top of the steps. The hotel is about two hundred metres along this road (Showa Dori) on the right, soon after the first set of traffic lights. The hotel is also easily accessible from Ginza Station.

Notices by e-mail: Most members now receive the Society's notices by e-mail (as attachments), although a fax option is still available. Please notify Mr Tim Minton (t.minton[at]camford.org) if you would like to receive notices by e-mail and have not yet registered your address. Please also make sure you let us know if your e-mail address or any other contact details change.

Please notify the Honorary Secretaries (t.nakamura[at]camford[dot]org) if you change your email address, fax number or postal address. Every time a notice is circulated, we receive quite a few “delivery failure” notices. Failure to inform us of changes in your contact details may result in your removal from the mailing list and loss of membership.
